Eight human trafficking cases exposed

The underage children were exploited into forced begging during 2010 in the country. Therefore, eight human trafficking cases occurred at home and abroad. There were six cases related to Malaysia, one to Thailand and one case inside the country. A total of 15 children who were forced to beg were exposed and 26 human traffickers were involved in the human trafficking cases.

Some people committed human trafficking cases in groups and swindled the children who were in trouble for basic needs under the pretext of job prospects. Maung……. of 10 years and Ma……. of nine years from Kyaungkon Township were cheated by
offering a job as babysitter with the salary of K 10,000 for a month in Yangon. Then the children were sent to Malaysia and their passports were forced to be sold with 100 Malaysian Ringgit. Similarly, three young boys of seven, five and three years from
 
Pyapon Township were sent to Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia and they were forced to beg to get 100 Malaysian Ringgit a day. Two children of 16 and 15 years from Hlinethaya Township were sent to Malaysia to beg.

In addition, three children of 10 years, eight and five from Twantay Township were cheated to offer jobs with the salary of K 50,000 per month at a bookstall of Malaysia. Culprits Aung Naing Tun and seven others were arrested for human trafficking and the culprits illegally sent three children of 14, 12 and 11 years from Madaya Township of Mandalay Region to Malaysia. Likewise, Ma Kyi Kyi and one other from Dalla Township forced a child of 14 years to beg in Malaysia. Offender Hla Maung and one other from Kyaikmayaw Township trafficked a 45-year old mother and 7-year old child with 6,000 baht and sent them to Mae Sot of Thailand.

Maung…. of 19 years from Kutkai Township, Maung…… of 16 years of Moenyin Township and Maung……of 14 years were forced to be ordained as  novices and forced them to beg for K 2500 a day. The wrong doers involved in each case were from different places across the country.
