Arrivals increasing on MAI Direct Flights which offers Visa on Arrival.
Eleven Media Group web site reports that increased arrivals seen at On-arrival-visa-privileged MAI – Myanmar Airways International`s direct flights from Siam Reap and Guangho to Yangon. MAI started visa on arrival on 23rd Feb, 2011 with its maiden voyage from Siam Reap to Yangon.
“Most tourists are more interested in Visa on Arrival especially those who want to decide on a short notice. Otherwise you have to queue at a Myanmar Embassy which is away from city centers (e.g Consulate General’s office in Kunming, China) as there is no online system. It is not convenient for travelers who want to come to visit Myanmar in a short notice and they will go to elsewhere there is easier entry visa (or no visa required countries) said a Travel and Tour company operator.
