Maesai Grace Kindergarten Christmas

We celebrated the birth of Jesus Christmas with our Kindergarten on 23 December, 2011. All the 42 children are join with us and they are playing with the teacher and after the teacher are telling about the birth of Christ. After that the Pastor Rev Go Shin Maung are praying for the children and the parent and than giving the Christmas gift for the Children.

Significance of Christmas

The Significance of Christmas is known to men, all over the world. Though it is true that Christmas is celebrated as the day of the Birth of Christ into this world, yet it also symbolizes a very deeply significant truth of the spiritual life. Jesus Christ is the very personification of Divinity. He was born at a time when ignorance, superstition, greed, hatred and hypocrisy prevailed upon the land. Purity was forgotten and morality was neglected.

In the midst of these conditions, Christ was born and He worked a transformation in the lives of people. He gave a new and a spiritual turn to the lives of man. There came a change upon the land. People started upon a new way of life. Thus a new era dawned for the world.

In that period the seeker has no thought of God or higher spiritual life. He lives a life of lust, anger, greed, deluded attachment, pride and jealousy. If the seeker must enter into a new life of spiritual aspiration, purity and devotion, then the Christ-spirit must take its birth within his heart. That is the real Christmas when the Divine element begins to express itself in the heart of the man. From then onward, light begins to shine where darkness was before.

A very small, but very beautiful, point of deep significance is attached to Christmas. It is the time and the manner of the birth of the Lord upon the holy Christmas day. Jesus Christ was not born in a grand palace. He was not born to very wealthy or learned parents. Jesus Christ was born in a simple lowly place, a corner of a stable. He was born to humble and poor parents, who had nothing to boast about, except their own spotless character and holiness.

The above point of deep significance tells that the spiritual awakening comes to the seeker, who is perfectly humble and "meek" and "poor in spirit." The quality of true humility is one of the indispensable fundamentals. Then we find simplicity, holiness and the renunciation of all desire for worldly wealth and pride of learning. Thirdly, even as Christ was born unknown to the world and in the obscurity of darkness, even so, the advent of the Christ-spirit takes place in the inwardness of man when there is total self-effacement self-abnegation.

Foreign tourists surge in Bagan

The number of tourists is increasing in ancient Bagan city, compared with previous three years, according to a responsible person of Bagan Hoteliers Association.
 

In this regard, security team will prohibit disorderly dinner parties that are not in line with Myanmar traditions and culture at this archeological site.

Secretary U Zaw Weik of the Bagan Hotelier Association said, “The number of domestic and foreign tourists in this open season broke the record of previous three years. However, we do not permit to hold dinner parties in any places of Bagan archeological site. A security team has been organized last month to carry out this duty for 24 hours a day. Security persons in this team are well experienced in this area.”

It was reported that all the rooms in most of the hotel have been booked since the beginning of 2011 open season.

Human Resource Manager Ma Khwa Nyo of the Bagan Hotel also said, “The rooms of our hotel have been fully booked for foreign tourists from November to the end of January. We have 107 rooms. The number of tourists is expected to increase this year.”

There are 72 hotels in Bagan, the ancient city of Myanmar, according to the list of Bagan Hoteliers Association.

Christmas Caroling

In the every year, especially before the Christmas we are going to caroling to the city of our place in here Maesai. For this year we are schedule for four night caroling and outreach to the Burmese Migrant Community.

Especially we are going to non Christian family and houses. Sing a song for Christmas carol, sharing the meaning of Christmas and share some of the gift to them. Here is some of the picture for day two. We are all included more than 40 peoples and very nice and meaningful night.

Working with Local Village

We are very strong working with our local village leader and committee. Last week the village leader are local health worker are came to our primary school and medical check up for the migrant children and after that they took some treatment for the children.
