Provide Education for Migrant Children

Summary

Our Maesai Grace Church provide transportation, teachers, lunch & stationary to 150 marginalized Burmese migrant children (3-12) in North Thailand to help integrate them into Thai and Myanmar schools in the future.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Language barriers, poverty, fear of arrest & low education levels mean that most Burmese migrant children in North Thailand cannot attend Thai school but must work as child laborers in hazardous environments such as construction sites, rubber plantations or fisheries. Maesai Grace Church currently teach 75 Burmese children at our Migrant Primary School so they can learn in a safe environment & be integrated into Thai and Myanmar school in the future. Parents also learn about the role of education in breaking the poverty cycle.
